HSS Tap MC Taper-16x2
Bordo HSS Tap – Metric Coarse – Taper – 16 x 2.0mm
The Bordo 16 x 2.0mm HSS Taper Tap is designed for starting precise internal threads in materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from premium high-speed steel (HSS), it offers outstanding hardness, wear resistance, and long service life, making it ideal for both workshop and on-site use in hand or machine tapping applications.
With a long lead of approximately 7–10 threads, this taper tap provides a gradual cutting action that reduces tool load, improves alignment, and helps ensure clean, accurate threads. It is the preferred first stage in a threading sequence for through-holes, or for initiating blind holes before progressing to intermediate and bottoming taps. Made to metric coarse (MC) standards, it is perfectly matched for M16 fasteners with a 2.0mm pitch.
Key Features:
Size: M16 x 2.0mm (Metric Coarse)
Type: Taper tap – long lead for easy starting and correct alignment

Use: First stage in hand or machine tapping sequences
Precision: Ground flutes for smooth cutting and accurate thread profiles
Engineered for accuracy and reliability, the Bordo HSS M16 x 2.0mm Taper Tap ensures professional-quality threading results in all types of metalworking projects.
